Eagle Creek Park

The largest park in Indianapolis and one of the biggest in the United States, Eagle Creek sits on about 1,400 acres. There are 10 miles of paths within it. The park primarily serves as a nature reserve, but there are also recreational activities available here such as fishing, hiking, skiing, shooting, and swimming.



Garfield Park

Garfield Park is about 136 acres and is located on the south side of Indianapolis. The park includes a conservatory, which is open to the public and offers workshops, demonstrations, and lectures on horticulture and landscaping. Established in the 19th century, Garfield Park is the oldest park in the city. The park also includes a community house, performing arts center, aquatic center, and family center, as well as a statue of Henry Ware Lawton.




Riverside Park

Riverside Park was founded in 1898. The city zoo was originally located in the park but closed in 1916. Inside this park you will many recreational areas. Athletic leagues, community and civic meetings, swimming, fitness programs, playgrounds, and other large events are the primary focus. Riverside Park is located only 5 miles from downtown Indianapolis and serves as a great escape from the commotion of the city.




Sahm Park

6801 East 91st St.

Formerly known as Northeastway, Sahm Park was first developed in 1963. With over 80 acres of land, there is an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the park. The aquatic center has always been the main focus. An 18-hole golf course can also be found here. 3 picnic areas, a pavilion, volleyball and basketball courts all offer fun for all ages.

Canal and White River State Park

Located just west of downtown Indianapolis, White River Park is the nation's only urban state park. It provides a wide range of attractions and activities for all ages.Inside you'll find various museums, an IMAX theatre, the Indianapolis Zoo, Victory Field, and downtown Indianapolis Canal Walk. This park helps promote the city's many events and cultural options that downtown has to offer.
