Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument



The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument is 284 ft. tall located on Monument circle. The monument was completed by a German architect by the name of Bruno Schmite. The completion of this monument was in the early months of 1901. The cost to build the monument was $593,318.00 but now to build the structure today it would cost over $500,000,000.  The monument was built to honor Hoosiers who were veterans of the American Revolution. At the to pof this particular monument is a observation deck that can be accessed by stairs at no charge and $2.00 for elevator. The stairs have a total of 331 steps and 330 are numbered.


Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial



The Medal of Honor monument is dedicated in honor of all the recipients of the prestigious Medal of Honor, the United States Military's highest award of valor. The memorial was unveiled in 1999 and features of the names of those who were awarded the Medal of Honor on 27 glass panels.

Indiana War Memorial



The Indiana War Memorial, formerly known as the Indiana World War District Memorial Plaza Historic District, was constructed in the very downtown of Indianapolis. It honors all those who died for the honor of America and its values, and also inspires patriotism to all those who visit it.

Veterans Memorial Plaza



Veterans Memorial Plaza, also referred to as Obelisk Square, was constructed in 1930. Featuring a paved plaza, grassy areas, and a 100 ft. obelisk rising from a fountain, Veterans Memorial Plaza is the impressive and proud symbol of downtown Indianapolis. This memorial is dedicated to all past and present Indiana veterans. It was designed to represent the nation's aspirations.

USS Indianapolis Memorial

This memorial pays tribute to the USS Indianapolis, which perished in the worst disaster in US naval history. Funded by the USS Indianapolis Survivors Memorial Organization, Inc., this memorial was dedicated on August 2, 1995. Engraved on the south face of the memorial, there are the names of the crew members. It is a popular Indianapolis attraction that is visited by many and is open 24 hours a week, 7 days a week.



President Benjamin Harrison's Home

Come visit the 1875 Italianate home of 23rd US president Benjamin Harrison. It is located in the Old Northiside Historic District of Indianapolis. Built in the 1870s, Harrison's home is made out of red brick and has 16 rooms. Various exhibits depict Harrison's life as Indiana's only president, his accomplishments, family, and the Victorian era. The home is full of Harrison's personal furnishings, decorative art, and unique political memorabilia.
